I have many reasons for making art. It allows me to explore my creativity, use the mind in a stimulating way, and communicate an idea I have to a larger audience. Furthermore, if I am successful, I can instigate the audience to think in a new way, cause them to question things, or provoke them to see something from a different perspective.
I am intrigued by paradoxes, contradictions found in nature, impossible realities, confusion, ironies, and things that are mundane but beautiful. I am interested in exploring the concept of time, memories, and symbolism. If I am confused about an idea that’s been floating around my head, I’ll try to somehow solve that question within my art. It’s like a puzzle I have to figure out. Photography helps me realize that it’s okay not to have the answer to everything all the time, and sometimes the answer IS the question.
